When you hear the name Sony, images of high-tech and high-quality consumer electronics come to mind. It is one of the strongest brand names in the global electronics industry. After all, hasn't the company been a part of the evolution and growth of the electronic appliances and gadgets that we use daily? Sony was and still is a manufacturing giant in the electronics universe, notwithstanding the increase in competition. In fact, having more competitors with comparable products may spur the company to pick up its paces when it comes to developing gadgets such as Sony plasma screens and to recapture their market share. Plasma televisions themselves are thought of as high-end items of luxury, with connotations of sophistication and exclusiveness.
